I ran a test and it did not cause the error. Did this student already have payments applied to the payment plan when you tried to delete it? If you can email me the student information I would like to look at it more closely.
You are not allowed to delete a payment plan with a payment assigned. This is the issue. I have changed it so that it gives you a better error message, and this will be included in the next release. But you should be able to go in and move the payment, and then delete the payment plan.
