Race is not displaying on a student record. The only way we have found to see it is by editing the IPEDS Ethnicity. It seems that it should dispay on the personal info screen.
IPEDS Ethnicity is a single derived value based on the results of the Question 1 and Question 2 (multiple answer). Would you like the whole 2 question section to be shown in the Profile details or just the options for the Question 2? (all have to be shown as multiple values could be selected for Q2).
IPEDS Ethnicity is a calculation based on those two questions. It is purposefully hidden on another page. If you wish to see the questions, just click update and it will show you the answers.
The person answers the questions and it calculates the response
If citizenship code is “FS” for NonResident Alien, the ipeds ethnicity is set to NRAlien
Then if Hispanic, Indian, Asian, black, pacific, and white are blank it is set to “Unknown”
If Hispanic is No and all others are blank it is set to “unknown”
If Hispanic is “yes” it is set to Hispanic
If more than one of the non-hspanic boxes are set it is set to “2 or more”
Else it is set to whatever is clicked

It is too much information to be shown, and the update page is used in several places, so dont want to duplicate.
What I have done though, is changed the update button next to it to be "Details" instead. This button will show in read only mode as well. So with one click you can see the details.
This seemed like a good compromise. This will be included in the next release, version 2.56. Let me know if this doesnt meet your need.

It is shown in the profile section of personal info. It is a calculation and the results show as IPEDS Ethinicity

I'm not sure how to best display, but both race and ethnicity should be displayed on the profile.

I am not sure what information you are speaking of. Can you provide more info?

Is there a reason why the answer can just be displayed on the profile?
