Since the beginning of GNECsis (and we had it at APNTS first), our instructors have had a problem with submitting grades, particularly in the second semester.
In our institution, grades are due for graduating students earlier than continuing students. I suspect we're not alone in this.
But, when we enter grades for graduating students and click submit, and the registrar verfies the grades in order to post them to transcripts, we are locked out forever from entering the rest of the grades. I understand the desire to prevent alteration of posted grades, but as is this desire is met at a very high cost.
Would it be at all possible to keep empty cells unlocked in the grading module? I think it would be ideal if registrar verified grades were grayed out so they couldn't be altered, but the others were still available.

This is just to record the process that can be followed for the situation that you have.
First, a small update was made to the Faculty Grade entry screen to show which students have final grades (These can not be changed by faculty).
When the registrar moves an instructor grade from Instructor final to Final Grade it locks the grade. As long as the Registrar has left the instructor grade entry time period open, the instructors can still add any other final grades without problem. Thus allowing for some grades to be Final and locked and still allow instructors to enter any remaining Instructor Final Grades that are needed.
Let us know if there are any additional changes needed or desired.
