Student Portal document uploads

When a student logs in on the student portal and uploads a document under Profile, the document does not appear under the profile when the student logs out and in again, and the document also does not reflect under the student's profile under academics when Admin logs in as a user.

Student Portal document uploads

Hi there,

My colleague found the document in academics/student/history/documents. He successfully deleted it.

Then he also went in as the student, uploaded a document, logged out, logged in again as the student and it was there.

This was all on your server (but he also tested it locally and it was OK).

Maybe it is the document type or size? Can you send us a copy of the document you were trying to upload?

Also, is this for all students or just one student?

Let us know.

Priscila

Conflicting document access

Explanation: The Document Configuration has areas where the document is to be shown. There are some areas that create conflicts.  For example if a document should show up for an instructor on the instructor portal (Job qualifications, Continued Training, etc..) and also has view access to a class (class attendance sheet, signed off final marks) then these two areas are not compatible and the system drops it from all views.

Solution: A Document "Container" should be specific to exactly where it should show up.  A global ALL document currently will not work. Update your current document permissions to be only those areas where you want that document to show up.  (example: Student nurse or counseling records should be limited to Student life and nowhere else in the system.)

System Update: Developers are looking at additional validations to prevent the conflicts from being able to be selected together.

In the next version:

In the next version:

  1. In the category area, we have grouped like functions together (all people ones, all class ones). The exception is other as these are distinct from each other but didn't want to make unique categories for them by themselves.
  2. Double checked that if no category is defined, they can't get to a place where they can add a file. I saw no cases where this was possible so am still confused about that.
  3. Check to make sure at least 1 item is checked before saving the category.

Let's see how this goes. If there is a specific error that you continue to get, keep it as it is, and let me know the specifics and I can check further into the situation. For now, this is being closed.
