Payment made by student

Hi,

I had a student pay a payment today Receipt 17589 and it for some reason was split into 2 separate transactions on their student account and one of the transactions did not apply to their payment plan even though the transaction for both were Fall 2021

Please advise

Question

Both payments currently show as being applied to the payment Plan lines. Did you update this manually for both or just one?

It was applied correctly on the transactions but on the payment plan it shows a $8.00 shortage on the payment.  I was going to change it but I wanted you to see before I manually changed it.

Solution

From what I can tell the system appears to have processed it correctly... but maybe we need to make some changes.... 

The system applies the payments on the portal to the payment plan in order of payment plan. It appears they paid the first one short of $8. So the system applied $8 to finish the first payment plan and then applied the rest to the second payment plan. This thus shows up $8 short.  

Lets have a meeting this coming week and work through this and a couple other items.
