New Sub-section: Learning Support

Folks,

Could we have a new sub-section in Academics > Students > Personal Info called "Learning Support".

We'd like somewhere to hold qualitative information about students' learning support needs. I'd envision it being a space to Add discrete entities with the following options:

1. A 'type' drop-down menu from a PickList.
2. An open-entry textbox for 'Learning Support Requirement'
3. A large open-entry textbook for 'comments'.
4. A tickbox for 'visable to Instructors' (we're imagining this would be useful for Class Roster reports, but there will be some that shouldn't be shown).

Next Release

A version of this will be in the next scheduled release.  

I have made a few changes to your proposed design.  Here is what I have done:

  • In Student Life, there is a new section under student called "Health Support".  We already ahve other health requirements and activity so this seemed to be the logical place to put it.
    • You can grant access to this section to those who need to see it
    • Fields are similar to what you have requested above
      • Type (in Pick Lists under HealthSupportType) - only shown here
      • Support
      • Comments - only shown here
      • Available in Academics (Yes or No)
      • Available to Instructor (Yes or No)
  • In Academics, at the top of Student, the Support field from any of the items from above that are listed as available in academics will be shown (display only).
  • In Instructor Portal, under Roster section and on Print Photo Roster,  the Support field from any ones from above that are listed as available to instructor will be shown (display only).  Since there is limited space on the class roster printed report I have currently not added it there.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  The next release is scheduled for later this week.
