Cliff College User cannot successfully save Instructor Notes

Folks,

I've just been on Zoom with one of the administrators from Cliff College (username: cthacker) who would usually put additional information to the Class pages is having trouble saving these. Their normal procedure at the moment is to have administrators enter relevant additional info into the Instructor Midterm Note and Instructor Final Note fields via the Class page > "Enter/Update Midterm Grades" and "Enter/Update Final Grades". You guys helpfully opened up these fields to be edited from the Staff Class pages a while back for us, and it's been working fine.

Now, however, the fields are open and editable, but when the user clicks 'Save' the information just doesn't take - the fields remain blank. Indeed, if they try to edit the one 'test' note from another user that is already in a student's record, it immediately reverts to the original note. We've taken a look at various Class pages, and it holds true across them, and I've taken a quick look at her Permissions and they seem to be in good order. I still have normal access to these functions on the NTC system, so I'm not sure quite what's up.

Could you take a look and see if it's just her user, or just the Cliff system?

Try again

I just tried on their server and it works fine for me.  I tried logging in as this user and it is still working fine for me.  I tried it on 2021-2022 UM4AP-20 Applied Practice(A), added in test 2 comment.  Have her try it again, and if it does not work, please document step by step the exact process.  It is possible some little process difference is the issue.

Issue

I believe the issue is with the data entry being in the expansion area. If you have to press the Plus Sign to see the field and you enter data, it does not save the data when you Save and Return.  You have to shrink your screen so that the enterable values are available without the expansion. This can be done with the browzer zoom out button or on most systems using the Ctrl + Minus sign  or Ctrl + (scroll down or up on mouse).  On a MAC the touch pad or magic mouse you can zoom in and out by pinching your fingers together or spreading them out. 

This is the best solution until the expansion fields issue is resolved.

Ah-ha, that is indeed the issue! Sorry if I missed that this was a known issue currently. I'll keep an eye out for a fix in the patch notes so I can tell Cathi when she can stop squinting at her zoomed-out screen :) thanks for the help!

I have moved the notes field over to earlier in the grid, next to the grade column, in order to minimize the issue.  It will be in the next release
