Advising with pre-requisite is not permitted

Hi, Kindra! Here I am again. Our Program Directors are still having dilemma advising students with pre-requisite courses. They are not allowed to add courses with pre-requisites. Could you remove that barrier? They can be reminded though that there is a pre-requisite, but could you put an option like, Approved, Yes, or No, or Cancel. And then something that allows them to proceed.  Thank you very much for your help! Sincerely, Judy :)

Advisor override

Hello,

I will add a feature request that the system have a setting that allows permission be granted to Program Directors that they can override Pre-requisite courses.

The current recommended methodology, is that when the Advisor or Department Head makes a proposed schedule, that they provide the details of the course that does not follow the normal rules. The course details and explanation can be added to the Notes section. (See Below screen shots)   This Note comes through to the Registrar in the proposed schedule approval section. The note can include the class number and details. The registrar/academics can approve and generate the schedule and then using the Update Schedule button go in and add the class that needs the special override.

If there is a class that normally would have a pre-requisite but its being offered without the pre-requisite course requirement then that class can be changed to not require the pre-requisite. This class would be different than the normal class.  When copying the class to the next year be careful to note that it will not carry the pre-requisite requirement.
