Good morning! Hope you guys are doing well.
We've been using the Academics > Students > Advanced Search to pull out lists of students to contact - very useful if I need to email out all active students, for example, or all PhD students. Unfortunately, some fields don't seem to be triggering as conditions properly when we try to use them.
The field I'm particularly noticing is the "Major" field, which is criteria like "Theology (Undergraduate)" or "Semester Abroad" - particularly good for if I need to quickly email all Active undergraduates, say. If I choose "Status: Active" and pick a "Major" then I get all Active students. If I only choose the "Major" criteria I get an error message that says, "Search Criteria is required."
So, I assume it isn't triggering properly as a search criteria - frustrating as it's one of the most useful ones!

I am sorry for the delay. I somehow missed this message. I have added the error to the list of fixes. I do not know the reason for the issue.
I do have another solution that will provide you the list that you want. It will work as a work around right now.
1. Go to Reports section of Academics.
2. Select Enrolled Students
3. Select the term you are in or interested in.
4. Select the desired Student Status (Active).
5. Select a major if you want a specific major.
6. Select "Create Contact List". Give the contact list a name and choose who the contact list will be sent to. Once it is sent if you go to your Saved Contact lists you may not see it. In the top right of the Saved Contact Lists section there is a Refresh button. Use that and you should then see your contact list.
Let me know if you have any additional questions on this. You will receive a notification when the Advanced Search is corrected.

This workaround is useful for undergraduate students, but unfortunately the report is tied to students enrolled for a particular term, so if I'm trying to find all our Postgraduate (Taught) or Postgraduate (Research) students who are often only enrolled for one term in a year, there isn't one search here I can do that will capture all active students at that level.
