I found the problem in student/academics/personal info, when you select a church you have the option to search or to add a new church. When you add a new church everything is well and can be saved and it reflects on the student profile when you go back. Once you save the editing of the student profile and click return the church page then comes back when you searched for a church. I then select cancel and then you need to return a second time from the student profile. It seems almost if the church selection is in the background. This happened a few times so thinks it is a system issue. I attach an image. It is to show the church page when I selected return the first time. after saving the student profile.
