Student Account issue

I have a student, he is classified as Alumni that is enrolled in 2 classes but he will not show up under the search, but if I go to advance search I can find him and I can see the 2 classes that he is enrolled.  I could not see any billing information on his student account so I generated charges for the fall again and still I do not see any charges on his account. I am in student accounts.

If needed I can send his name in a direct email.

@choward

Hello,

Yes, please send me his name.  It might be related to his classification.

The basic search only finds

The basic search only finds active students, so this student must have a status of inactive.   This might be part of the issue with the billing as well, depending on the rules that are set up. You might try changing his status to active.  This may fix one or both issues.

Source of Issue

Hello Cindy,

I ran the billing for this student in the inactive state and it generated the charges.  I unfortunately could not duplicate this part of your request.  If you find any additional examples that the generate charges function does not generate the charges please let us know.

For the not finding a student in student Accounts search.

1. Kindra's message above it correct.  Normal Search in Student Accounts will only find active students.  "Active" is defined as having a Student Status of Active. All other students need to be searched through Advanced Search.

2. It is recommended you talk with the Registrar/Academics.  A school policy should include that a student that has enrolled classes should be made active at the time the classes are added as enrolled.

3. In this case the Alumni is enrolling in new classes as a new degree/certificate/audit. It is recommended for school policy that a NEW Admissions profile be created to go along with a new enrollment. A student can have multiple prospect profiles each associated with each new program enrollment.  The reason is different for each school but it typically is needed for proper reporting and showing the process of how the student met the eligibility for the program they are enrolling into etc.
