In the academics tab under "honors" I am unable to add honors. I can only select "year for which class ranking is determined" and after selecting the year the other fields do not allow me to make any changes. I need to add honors to the student's record so that it shows up on their transcript. Thank you!

HOnors levels need to be entered on the grade scale, and then the honors need to be run from academics > administration.

I am trying to enter “Cum Laude” on a student’s transcript, do I need to add that to grade scale? I can’t enter anything on the “Honors” area of the academic tab in the student’s profile.

So I see what you are telling me to do, so once I add the honors/disctinction, I am not sure how they end up on each student’s record since I can’t manually enter them. I will need to “generate graduation honors” for each year? I guess I will play around with it and see how it works, thanks!

Yes you must generate them using the tool in academia administration. This is similar set up to how you do academic standings each term
