I know we talked about this but not sure if it made it onto a list.
It would be helpful to designate TAs in Genesis and then have the integration enroll them. Not sure the best method. Maybe add an "enroll TA" in the class creation and have a searchable dropdown of active students? or link the Faculty portal and the TAs and Moodle?
This is priority before Fall so we don't have to manually enroll 50 classes.

Add Teaching Assistants to Genesis and Integration
Status:
Resolved
We already have the equivalent of this in GNECsis. The head of a department can give access to any professor’s class records to any employee. This allows them to enter grades, see the roster, contact students, and enter attendance in GNECsis So, if this is set up in GNECsis, I think that the moodle integration could probably be configured to bring over that employee. Will add it to the list to evaluate, but you would also need to set up the TAs in your system first for them to be brought over.
That sounds like it will work. Where do we add the TA? I looked in the faculty section but I do not see it.
Also, once a TA is assigned, what will that enable them to do? i.e. what access will they now have in Genesis
It is in the faculty portal. Only the head of the faculty departments can do it. You may need to actually put your faculty in to departments first. THey don’t need any permissions set up, just an employee record.
Once i can delete my test Department, we can go ahead and work to integrating the Moodle connector and the built in Genesis Portal TA.
I deleted this yesterday
Is this in place and just waiting on us to create departments or is there more work on the integration side?
This is not in place, which is why it is still open. I handled your immediate request which was delete the department. In preparation for the change the steps above need to happen, but this likely won’t be completed until summer as Alan is extremely busy.
Can I get an update on this? Is it ready to go? The last info is a year old. We would like to stop manually inserting TAs by fall semester if possible.

Sorry. Yes, this is what was installed in the most recent release. We finiished it just before the last install. We rewrote how access is given to an instructors classes, in order to better facilitate the transfer to moodle. In instructor and in the portal (for department heads), you can given an employee access to an instructor. An access end date allows you to turn access off whenever needed. A list of terms controls what terms the person has access to for this instructor.
