Currently Financial hold can be updated in
- Academics - Student (individual)
- Academics - Administration - Financial Hold Analysis (in group)
- Student Accounts - Student (individual)
- Student Accounts - Student (in group)
- Student Accounts - Administration - Financial Hold Analysis (in group)
- Financial Aid - Student (in group)
It is in Academics because some schools don't use student accounts but still wanted to put them on financial hold.
I think it might be overwhelming number of emails if the Student Accounts email address was notified every time the financial hold flag was updated for anyone, especially with the bulk tools or if the student accounts person is the one that updated this flag (since the student accounts notification email is not connected to a user account). Would it instead be more useful to limit the financial hold flag changes in academics to either a permission or if student accounts is being used by the school? This way the student accounts person is the one that is actually updating it?

I think for our scope, having a notification to Cindy (Student Accounts) any time there is a removal would be fine as only 2-3 people may be doing the changes.

I have added four new potential automated emails (turned off by default).
- When financial hold is changed to blank, sent to host SA email
- when financial hold is changed (to non blank), sent to host SA email
- when academic hold is changed to blank, sent to host registrar email
- when academic hold is changed (to non-blank), sent to host registrar email
These will be included in the next release, and if you wish to use any of them, you will need to turn them on.
