I'm curious whether there's an appetite to consider a form of multifactor authentication for GNECsis. Personally I hate MFA with a large portion of my being, but I do understand the desire for increased security around sensitive Student data, and particularly with GDPR legislation and whatever replaces it in the UK, I suspect one of the considerations for level of punishment should there be a serious data breach will be how comprehensive the security arrangements in place were.
I realise this might be quite the task, so it's more speculative, to let you know the desire to explore the capability is out there, rather than an urgent request.

Hello,
This is already available in the system to a certain extent. If you set up Azure AD Multi-Factor Authentication and use SSO (Single Sign-On) for login then you can use the 2 factor authorization built into AD SSO. NTS is currently using this and ANU is working on setting it up. If you go to the help section in System Admin there are instructions for setting up SSO. This should give you a good idea of the steps involved.
Native built in 2 factor authentication has not yet been implemented but this has been asked by several schools.

there is some need for this. What dont know is what 2FA platform people are using. text the code is common but that generally only works in country. Email codes are an alternative with time limits. still looking
