Inactive admissions counselors are options when activating a prospect. Can inactive employees/admissions be hidden from the pick lists for new prospects?
First: Make sure you use the Admissions>Administration>Counselor Reassignment to move any current prospects over to a different counselor so that they do not get lost.
Second: Go to HR and go to the employee that you want to remove from being a counselor. Go to their Staff Section and change them from Type Admissions to either blank or General. This should remove them from the counselor list in Admissions.
I tested this on the Demo site and it worked. If this does not work on your production system let me know and I will look into it further.

We are adding the counselor to the advanced search in Prospect. Do you want the inactive counselor to show here if there are prospects tied to them or only have the active counselors show in the advanced search?
Any prospects that were assigned to that counselor will need to be moved. The option in Admissions Admin to move prospects from one counselor to another currently will not show counselors that are removed from the Admissions Staff Security type. Do you want the inactive counselors to still show on the transfer screen as long as there is at least one prospect that has the counselor assigned?

Thanks. I know how to get around it but it seems that inactive counselors should still be hidden in general. Is there a reason not to fix the issue?

I have created the task for the developers.
