I have a question from Cliff about Dissertation Class, and whether the setup can be differentiated somewhat for these classes.
Essentially, we enrol all students who write their dissertation (either at Undergraduate or MA level) in a module called MADIS or something similar, to record it on their transcript. Now, there is not a particular instructor for this class - each student generally works with a different advisor.
We were curious if there was a way to set a differentiated setup for the Class, whereby if 'Dissertation' was selected from the Delivery Method drop-down, there is a way to assign each student an individual Instructor within the class. This would allow us both to easily keep track within the system of which lecturer was supervising which students, and also a good way of keeping this record somewhere safe for future reference.

There is no official way to do this but the relationships are there that I can make a report for everyone that is taking a Dissertation class show the students advisor. This will only be accurate at the time of the report so if the student changes advisors later the report will reflect the later time. To reflect something right now on the class the best option would be to record the Assigned advisor in the Instructor Final Note or Instructor Midterm Note. This would need to be manually entered one time for the class. It will stay tied to the class after the class is done. We can discuss this in our next meeting as well.

I know APNTS sets up a different class for each advisor for each term. It is the same course, just different classes and the instructor is the advisor..
