Cross-List Moodle enrollment

It would be extremely helpful if there was a way for cross-listed courses to propagate Moodle enrollments.

Here is the scenario:

Student takes HEBXXX for Hebrew credit but the course is taught through OTLXXX, an old testament course. It would be helpful to add a box on the class page that works something like this: Check here to enroll students from this class (ex:HEBXXX SP21) into class X (class number, ex: OTLXXX SP21) in Moodle integrations.

This would allow us to combine enrollments in Moodle but give credits properly.  This would also check the box to eliminate the original class (HEBXXX) in Moodle since all the students are enrolled into the propagated Moodle course (OTLXXX).

Thanks.

Need to Adjust Your Course/Class Set Up

In looking over your system, I believe you need to make some tweeks to your course/class set up.  The cross listing ability is already available.

- In courses, HBXXX should be listed as a cross listed course for OTXXX.  So, if you look at HBXXX, OTXXX will show as the primary course, and if you look at OTXXXX, HBXXX will show as the crosslisted course.

- In classes, you only need to add a class for OTXXX.  Do NOT add a class for HBXXX.

- When registering, HBXXX will automatically show as an option on the list, as a crosslisted option.  The students wishing to take the HBXXX course should register for that one and the students wishing to take the OTXXX course should register for that one.  But, both are connected to the SAME class.

- On Classes, when you view the the roster for OTXXX, there is a column for crosslisted, you will see HBXXX in that column for any students that are taking this course as that course number.

- Moodle (or canvas) integration goes off of Class, so since there is only one class (OTXXX) that is what will be created.

Does this make sense?

Thanks. I will look over it

Thanks. I will look over it in detail with Derek this week and let you know if there is any remaining confusion but it sounds like this will take care of the problem

Once you have reviewed your

Once you have reviewed your set up in GNECsis to confirm if set up as above, if Moodle still is incorrect, I will have Alan take a look.  Just let us know.

It looks like it is working

It looks like it is working ok. Megan had some confusion when adding HEBXXX as a new course and didn't get it cross listed properly.

We will keep an eye on things to make sure the cross listing enrollments work properly for Summer and let you know if there are additional issues.

Thanks for the help figuring it out!
