I may have done something incorrectly but I updated a students scholarship awards after it had been applied to their account. It appears to have changed in the financial aid module but the change is not reflected on his student account.
I tried to attach 2 screen shots but I am only allowed to attach 1

I will look into it.
For adding images to add an additional image you need to press the Add another item button on the bottom right. (see screen shot)

The most likely reason was the use of the edit disbursement and just changed the disbursed amount in the disbursement details screen.
To generate a reversing student account transaction you have to use either the Reverse OR Revise button. These are the only options that will generate reversing transactions for awards that are already disbursed.
