I am adding and deleting students from classes prior to the Spring semester. Genesis sends an e-mail to the instructor every time. The instructor doesn't need to know adds and drops until the school year starts. It would be nice to have the ability to turn the auto generated e-mail off when I wanted to.

Hello,
There are on/off switches for a good portion of the auto emails in the system. These settings are in System Administration > Host. You will need to get someone from your school with security access to Host to make the changes for you. Stephen Porter is my first recommendation.
To turn different auto emails on/off you would go to System Administration > Host > Additional Information > Automatic Emails and Alerts. Select update to turn the auto email on and off. If the desire is to turn this on and off depending on when school is in session, then this would be a great use of the Process/Task feature in the system to set up a task and reminders of when the email setting should be changed.
