GNCEsis/Moodle integration and class end dates

Hello, when we import from GNECsis to Moodle it carries over the class end dates as part of the import. A professor just reported that the class end dates posed a problem. Would extending the semester end date in GNECsis cause any problems with graduation, for example? Or are graduation dates and semester end dates independent of one another?
