Multiple Advisors

Hello,

Can we give access to multiple advisors to students per degree track? For example, I want three people as advisors to PHD in Holistic Child Development?

Thank you.

Multiple Advisors

Hi there,

Each student can only have one advisor. This way, it is possible to split up students under different advisers

Shared Advising

Though it is true that there can only be one assigned advisor per degree, there are options for shared advising.

  1. If you want to do group advising, assign the division or department head as the lead (anchor) advisor for the students that will be in that group of shared advising.
  2. Go to the anchor advisor in the instructors update area in Academics or HR.
  3. Go to Grant Access to an Instructor's Advisees/Classes.(See screenshot)
  4. Add the Employees that are granted access to the anchor's advisees. It can be set with a date or term limit or blank which will make it open access to all terms and/or no date of end of access. (see screen shot)
  5. The advisor can select the anchor advisor and see and update their advisees.(see screen shot).
  6. The department chair can assign instructors to access his advisees or link advisees through sharing one to another. This is by going to the Instructors portal, go to profile, go to Grand Access to an Instructor's Advisees/Classes. Department chair can share for themselves by selecting their own name to share access. (See screenshot)

If you have any questions let me know and we can have a meeting to go over this in detail.
