For entering grades the values can not be entered in the collapsed menu. The values need to be on the screen currently. This short video will show you some ways to make sure the grades entered are saved.
If you either make your screen wider or click on the plus sign next to each row, you will have access to the fields. They are on the screen, you just have a very narrow window, so not all can be displayed.

I have moved the fields around so the grades are earlier on the grid. This will be in the next version.
