Hi, Kindra! Welcome back to APNTS! It is so good to see you again!
I have a request. Is it possible for the Adviser (i.e. Academic Dean/Program Director) to waive those pre-prerequisite courses that may appear or pop out from his/her screen during advising? So that, the Registrar will not need to be the one to enter it instead. When in fact, the adviser knows and is aware in the first place if the advisee needs a pre-requisite course or not. Thanks a lot for your help.
Sincerely,
Judy :)

Advising students with pre-requisite courses

There already is something like this in the system. If the person doing the pre-registration is part of/in charge of the department for the course, it will give them a message about the missing pre-requisite but it will go ahead and add the course. Basically, if they are part of the department it assumes that they have the power to override it, but if they try to pre-register a student for a course outside of their area, such as registering them for a PHD course they don’t meet the requirements for, it will fail.
So, if your departments are set up well, this will solve your problem.
Hi, Kindra! Thank you for this quick advice!
