Hello,
Some of our students come back for additional degrees (i.e., MA then PhD), but whenever they are registered by their new adviser, the system generates approval for both. Is there a way to make one degree inactive without inactivating the whole student profile?
What I have done is go to the old degree (Staff > Academics > Student > Academics > Edit) and unchecked "Requires Adviser Approval for Student Registration." Is there a better way to do this?
Hello,
The system does not know that a degree is completed until a graduation date is entered into the degree. Once the degree has a graduation date it will not longer include the advisor on the advisor approval list.
Your solution of removing the advisor for completed degrees that do not have graduation dates is a valid solution if you do not have a graduation date to enter.

Hello I have a student Jin Jun who graduated with MDiv and has returned for MST. He has graduation date on his MDiv, but is still showing on my active advisees list, as well as the MST director...

Thanks for letting us know. I have just added a couple different updates. First, degrees with graduation dates filled in after todays date will no longer show on active or inactive advisee lists. Second, I added in a check for approvals for degrees with graduations after todays date, and it will delete old ones if they are still there.
THis will be included in the next release, tomorrow afternoon kc time.
