  • Action Items - Password Requirements
    • ​All schools should go to System Administration/Host/Users and Email/User Integration and set correct values for their Password Requirements. If you are not sure what to use, put 2 for Upper Case, 7 for Lower Case, 1 for Numeral, 1 for Special Character, 8 for Minimum Size, 20 for Maximum size. Make sure the total of all quantities (upper+lower+numeral+special) is within the total range of minimum and maximum size or an error will be thrown. Also, make sure the minimum is less than or equal to the maximum password size. These values, in the next release, will be used for password generation and checking of password requirements going forward for all options (Internal, OpenLDAP, ActiveDirectory).

      • Host - Password requirement checks: Note if these values are not set correctly for AD or OpenLDAP schools, these syncs will not work until they are set properly. 
      • OpenLDAP sync (as was previously for AD sync) - the symbol has now been put within the other values. So, when generating a password it is now upper characters, symbols, numbers then lower characters. This will help for when a symbol is a period and it looks like in the user creation email as a part of the sentence and not a part of the password.
