Folks,
We'd like to look into adding a section that tracks when our students/staff have applied for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check - this is essentially the UK's version of a police check to see if people have any convictions/other issues that would stop them working with children, vulnerable adults, etc. In the UK you apply for them, they're valid for a certain amount of time (typically 1-3 years depending on the profession) and need to be renewed.
We need them for both students and staff in certain positions/degree tracks, so I wonder if it might be best placed on the Personal Information page (so it appears in both Academics and Human Resources) in its own expandable subsection. It would likely need an "Add" feature so we could have an active and historical checks, and each entity would need:
1. Date of Issue
2. Date of Expiry
3. Certificate Number
4. Open Text Boxes for:
a. Police Records of Convictions, Cautions, Reprimands, and Warnings
b. Information from the list held under Section 142 of the Education Act 2002
c. DBS Children's Barred List information
d. DBS Adults' Barred List Information
e. Other relevant information disclosed at the Chief Police Officer(s) discretion
f. Institution's Own Notes
5. A tick-box for "Update Service Subscribed".

I'd also be interested if there's a way we could have automated emails flag when any active DBS was coming up to its "Date of Expiry" sent to a nominated email address.
