It would be helpful to allow certain admins (defined by group permissions) to impersonate users so that the admin can see what the users see for troubleshooting without the need to have a password. This will help admins assist students and other users with problems within the portal and also allow admins to give personalized instructions and screenshots to the user and/or identity a potential issue in the SIS setup. The impersonation would need to have complete activity logs for auditing purposes.
This is a common and helpful feature for many of the other tools we are using (Moodle, Campus App, etc.) so we would like to have this added to GNECSIS if possible.
This has been something that has been discussed a lot. I will include your comments in the ongoing discussion/feature addition.

Is this still being considered? This is still a strongly desired feature as it would help troubleshoot student issues and also testing system permissions to make sure that proper compliance is happening.

WE are still in discussion on the best way to go about this, so it is not off the table

As I began to look at it, it seemed like the highest priority was the student portal, since for the instructor portal, you can add yourself as an assistant in instructor and gain access.
So, I have a beta version of “read only” student portal access. It is on your test server.
Some notes:
Feel free to try it out or let others on your team know about it. Then, let me know your thoughts.
